History of Agrici Wine

History of Agrici Wine

The winery was founded in 1958, and for over 60 years it produces wines from hand harvested grapes from the vineyards located in the same village as the winery, Milestii Mici. The handcrafted batches of wine are the result of the teamwork of two generations of winemakers in Agrici family. Our commitment is to grow quality grapes and run a winemaking facility in a sustainable way, by combining innovation and the creative spirit of secular traditions. Since 2004, in order to craft our wines, we have planted 80 ha of new vineyards of European and indigenous varieties, with the goal of assuring high quality of the grape supply, because we believe great wines begin in the vineyard. The grape varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Merlot, Rară Neagră, Saperavi, Chardonnay, Aligoté, Muscat and Rkatsiteli. Today, the winery is a dynamic facility employing the latest vinification techniques. By giving top priority to quality, for over 23 years Agrici Winery has control over the entire production process, from grape growing to bringing wines with Protected Geographical Indication Codru to the end customer, both on the domestic and international markets.
