“Cricova” winery was founded in 1952 and is one of the oldest wineries to produce high quality wines in the Republic of Moldova. It is a pearl of the Moldovan wine that represents a unique underground city well-known all over the world by its huge labyrinths, and especially by its excellent wines. "Cricova" is the first enterprise in Moldova which makes sparkling wine using the technology "Méthode Traditionnelle".
With over 60 years of experience, the "Cricova" Winery has affirmed itself through a continuous innovation trend. "Cricova" has been declared by law Object of Cultural National Heritage of the Republic of Moldova, being as well the only wine company that holds the highest state award – the Order of the Republic of Moldova.
Besides ageing and conserving wines, the stone cellars are housing a remarkable wine collection called the National Oenotec. The collection today boasts almost 1 million bottles, the price of which is immeasurable. Due to the vast knowledge and professionalism of the winemakers and oenologists of the company, today the combine can boast nearly 200 medals in the Palmares.
